I did it. I finally finished Hocus Pocus the Sequel. It only took how long? I have to say I am a little disappointed in this one. The first half was great. But, that was the movie in written form. The second half? Not so great.
We follow Max and Allison’s daughter Poppy. Poppy and her friends don’t listen and go to the Sanderson house where it all goes downhill. I don’t know what else to say about the book. Wish I could, but it was a struggle to get to the last page. We’ll just say that they had a mission to save Poppy’s family and the town before the Sanderson sisters stayed on this earth.
It just did not grab my interest. I’m one of those people who have to finish the book no matter what. In some cases, I’ll grab the audiobook in hopes that might help, but I decided to do it here and there by the book. Unfortunately, that went from mid-October to now.
As always I don’t want to stop you from reading the book. If you do read it and like it. Let me know. I always like when that happens. Sometimes I can see the book in a new light.
For most of October, I was on edge. Torn on what I would dare write this November. Nothing was coming to me. Do I dare write romance? Maybe fantasy? I was about to go nuts. After some time, I decided on young adult.
This would be my first young adult. Never have tried it. I love young adult books, but never even thought for a second on writing one. Why? That, I’m not sure.
It will take place somewhere haunted with a witch growing up. That’s all I can tell you for now. The story is of course still in the works. I do have the plot and at least the three main characters. I’m sure as the story goes, the plot will change. Characters, of course, will be added or removed.
I still have two days to decide if I even want to do chapter outlines. Those outlines always change, but I like knowing the direction I’m going in.
No clue on the title, but hey I came up with the character names and have a basic idea what they look like. So that’s definitely a plus.
Hopefully, I’ll have an update on day one. We shall see. I feel confident right now, but that could easily change two days from now.
I do have a goal to at least stay up until 12:30 am on November 1st. Fingers crossed!
Last one for the night, I swear. This month’s theme was Something Wicked This Way Comes. Love the box. I mean who wouldn’t want Edgar Allan Poe socks? Plus, a new copy of Sleepy Hollow.
I’m not sure on this book. Normally, I’ll know the book they put in there. But, this one. I never heard of. I’m pretty sure I haven’t even seen it on any blogs, YouTube videos, etc. Unless, I wasn’t paying attention. That does happen from time to time. Either way, looking forward to reading the book.
I did get excited when I saw the Dark Arts Coffee. Too bad it’s decaf. Oh, who I’m kidding. You’ll know I’ll still try it out.
Yes, there is a pen in the box this month. It’s a fountain pen. Love those! Also, as someone who loves to write. A pen is perfect.
A cute little bracelet. I might have already worn it.
Is it bad that I get excited for things like post its?
Bookmarks! Never can have too many bookmarks.
The book. Haven’t heard too much about this one. Looking forward to it.
A description of what was in the box.
Looking forward to reading the book. Sorry the picture on the bracelet wasn’t the best. Took a few shots just to get that one. Too much of a glare. I like the bookmarks even though I’ve never read The Golden Compass. That series is on my list of many books to read.
Love the bookmark. Can’t wait to use it.
I can always use another journal.
Another Magnet. I have so many. But, I could always use another one. They can come in handy.
The Uppercase Letter
The Book. Can’t wait to read it. Definitely was on my to-read list.
I started this series ages ago. I hope I can remember what happened in the first two book.
This one looked interesting.
I’ve been eyeing this one for awhile now.
I’ve been slowly getting into anime. So I’m always up for suggestions.
Thanks to of course Sherlock and the show on Fox. I’ve been wanting to re-read some Holmes.
Still in somewhat of a comic kick.
